About Up Proto
International but local to Uppsala, UpProto is a small, agile company specializing in prototyping, 3D printing, and mechanical analysis for researchers, companies, and startups. We can join your project at any stage of development — from early concept to ready-to-use application. Our team combines extensive hands-on and experimental experience with a broad engineering skill set.
We design and build experimental devices across various fields of science, including components for space applications (such as a bioreactor developed for the ISS), sample environments for synchrotron experiments, and custom adapters for biological samples.
Beyond device development, we offer composite laminate components, as well as 3D printing in both FDM and SLA technologies. We can produce precise technical drawings, create or refine CAD models, and design complete experimental setups starting from only a conceptual description.
